Cutting Data Finder
Cutting Data Finder
Displays recommended ranges for cutting speed and feed including start, minimum, and maximum values by material, operation, and tool.
How to use the result
The values are ranges for coated carbide tools from common machining handbooks and manufacturer catalogues. Start with the initial value and work towards the maximum while tool life, surface finish, and chip formation remain acceptable.
Feed per tooth and feed per revolution are scaled with diameter. The database is based on 10 mm; for substantially different diameters, the tool manufacturer catalogue is the better source.
For cutter engagement and chip thinning in milling, use the milling cutting-data tool.
