How to use the result

Compare only like with like: the same drawing revision, operation, and time definition. If feedback includes disruptions and auxiliary work that were not planned, the reported variance will be overstated.

Only an incorrect costing assumption justifies changing the costing basis. Disruptions and data errors belong in the correction of feedback, not the next calculation.

A small percentage variance can almost eliminate the contribution margin. Assess it in euros and by how often the order recurs.
