How to use the result

Defaults are a worked example, not a material recommendation. Use cutting speed and tooth feed supplied by your blade and machine manufacturer.

These formulas apply to rotating circular saw blades. Band saws use a directly specified band speed; this calculator determines neither their feed pressure nor their downfeed.

Calculated values are not limited to machine capabilities. Check the blade speed rating, drive, feed, tooth engagement and coolant before use.
